David J. Sales

David is a magna cum laude graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, where he obtained bachelor’s and master’s degrees in French. He received his law degree from the University of Chicago Law School, where he was the Articles Editor of the Legal Forum. After law school, David served as a law clerk to Judge Thomas A. Clark on the United States Court of Appeals in Atlanta. For nearly twenty years thereafter, David was a shareholder at Searcy Denney Scarola Barnhart & Shipley, P.A. in West Palm Beach, where he served as lead counsel in hundreds of personal injury, wrongful death, professional negligence and product liability disputes, while also handling consumer protection and civil rights cases. At Searcy Denney, David served as a member of the firm’s Executive Committee. For the last decade, David maintained his own boutique litigation practice, where the majority of his time was devoted to wrongful death and personal injury litigation against the tobacco industry, and appellate practice in personal injury and wrongful death suits.

David joined BTG Law to work on the firm’s growing mass tort practice, assist the firm’s lawyers in jury trials, and handle the firm’s appeals.

A Florida native, David enjoys fishing and spending time in Florida’s natural spaces. He and his wife Pauline have six adult children.
